Hi Jon. The Ice Monster (Golem? Demon? Warrior? :-) ) looks great, it's a pity there's no room for a full picture! Assuming you have your author copies by now (of course!), is it possible to get a photograph of the book standing back-to-back with, say, Bloodbones so we can see the difference in size with the new 'b' format for the FF books? Thank you :) Mat
Ah, that's the one! Right I've sized up Match Wits against a wizard FF for comparison and I think I'm going to enjoy the new size. In fact, it's the exact same size as the original Puffin Fighting Fantasy Sorcery! books by Steve Jackson, and I must say I think it's a good call...
As for the surprise, well I can only guess! But I guess I'll be finding out when it ships a week today. That seems like a funny day to release a book, Thursday? Oh well, I'm rambling. Once again I'm looking forward to it very much, but I think you'll have a tough time trumping Howl of the Werewolf. That book ticks all the boxes and gives FF fans the near-perfect balance of combat, exploration, reward and punishment we've been after so long. Since probably Creature of Havoc in fact. So I'm attempting to approach Stormslayer with an open mind and not judge it against it's excellent fore-bearer!

Hi Mat
Actually it's an Ice Elemental.
Still wanting on my author copies actually, but if you've got Match Wits with the Kids that's B format, which should help in terms of comparison.
BTW - when you get hold of Stormslayer, you might be in for a bit of a surprise...
Cheers for now
Jon
